Dr. Tausif Ahmed Thangalvadi
Dr. Tausif Ahmed Thangalvadi completed his MBBS from Al-Ameen medical college, Bijapur from in 2003 and completed his MD in Accident & Emergency medicine from Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai in 2009. He has been associated with the specialty of emergency medicine for the last 15 years.
Currently a Medical Director & Consultant Emergency Physician at Premier Hospital, Hyderabad, Dr Thangalvadi also heads academics for the hospital. He was formerly the Head, department of Emergency Medicine, Aster Medcity, Kochi where he was also the program director for DNB Emergency Medicine training and course coordinator for the Masters in Emergency Medicine program (MEM) conducted by the George Washington University, USA at Aster Medcity.
Dr Thangalvadi was also awarded the Dr. Kumar Alagappan silver medal as a postgraduate for the best paper presentation at EMCON 2008 and was the best outgoing student in his postgraduate batch. He was also awarded the Emergency physicians of India (EPI) Star award at PACE 2015 at Yercaud. And the SEMI Tamilnadu State Chapter award for service to emergency medicine in the year 2016.
He has also taught at various programs across the country including the MEM program at KIMS, Trivandrum, Peerless Hospital, Kolkata and Mission hospital, Durgapur, the PGDEM program at Meenakshi mission hospital, Madurai and Deepam hospital, Chennai and the MD (emergency medicine) program at SRMC, Chennai.
He has presented papers at various conferences and published 8 papers in international journals (International journal of Emergency Medicine, World journal of emergency medicine, Hemodialysis international, International Journal of Emergency Medicine).
He is an instructor for Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Ultrasound use in the ED programs.
He has been invited faculty at various conferences across the country since 2011 including PACE, EMCON, GAMET, Critical care nursing, Trauma conferences. EMS Asia 2014 was his first international conference as faculty. He has also been a part of the organizing team in various capacities for many conferences on emergency medicine in India.
For his work in coordinating relief and rehabilitation efforts during the Chennai floods of December 2015, he was honored with multiple awards including The “Hero of India Award by the Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI), Bravery Award at SEMICON 2016 and the “Warrior of Chennai’ Award at Sean Roldan Live. He is also currently the South India lead and a National board member of the Faculty of Disaster Medicine – India & Nepal.
